CongressMail Account and Password
How do I get a CongressMail account?
C-WBN leaders and workers are eligible for CongressMail accounts. If you
need an account, please sign up

How do I setup my CongressMail account?

How do I change or reset my password?
Instructions for changing or resetting your password can be found

Do I have to change my password regularly?
Yes, the CongressMail security policy requires you to change your password
at least once every 180 days. You will be reminded to change your password starting 1 week from the
deadline. If the password is not changed, it will expire and you will no longer be able to login. In
that event, please submit a request for help.
How do I associate a picture with my account?
- Login to CongressMail
- Click the Gear icon at the top-right part of the screen and choose Options
- Click Edit information at the bottom of the screen
- While in the Photo area select one to use.
Accessing CongressMail
How can I access my CongressMail account?
You can access your account via a web browser (using the Microsoft Outlook
Web App), via a desktop email client (Microsoft Outlook for Windows or Mac OS X), or on a mobile device
via any app that supports Exchange ActiveSync.
Which web browsers are compatible with the Outlook Web App?
- Internet Explorer 8 or above
- Safari 5 or above
- Latest Chrome stable version
- Latest Firefox release version
Which mobile devices and apps are compatible with CongressMail?
Mobile devices must support Exchange ActiveSync to access CongressMail. This
protocol is supported by the built-in email clients on the following platforms:
- iPhone and iPad with iOS 7 and higher
- Android with OS 4.0 and higher
- Windows Phone 8 and higher
You may also configure CongressMail on other devices (such as BlackBerry 10 or higher) or
third-party email apps. However, the C-WBN Service Desk does not provide technical support for these
additional configurations.
CongressMail Features
What features are included in CongressMail?
CongressMail is built on Microsoft Office 365, which includes email,
calendar, contacts, instant messaging, voice and video chat, online conferencing with desktop sharing,
and web apps that provide a level of functionality with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files.
What are Office Web Apps and what types of files can be used with
them?
Office Web Apps are lightweight versions of applications such as Word,
Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote that allow for viewing and editing documents. Office Web Apps are
available as part of your CongressMail account.
Does CongressMail have anti-virus and spam protection features?
Yes, CongressMail has built-in anti-virus and spam fighting technology.
Please note that virus and malware protection should be approached in layers, and for this reason it is
highly recommended that anti-virus software also be installed on your computer, and that it and virus
definitions be kept up to date.
How long will messages remain in Deleted Items and Junk Email
folders?
Items that are in Deleted Items or Junk Mail folders are purged from
accounts after 30 days.
